GABON

Supplying the nine provinces of Gabon with fresh fish is the ambitious project of Amoniqué Mahosso, head of the start-up "Dinice Poisson", which specialises in the marketing of fish and the consumption of organic food. At 25 years old, the young entrepreneur says with strength and conviction that in a few months this goal will be achieved. Artiaf wanted to know a little more.

Student in Master 1 management of organizations at the Higher Institute of Engineering (ISI) of Libreville, Amoniqué Mahosso has great ambitions. Holder of a bachelor's degree and a bachelor's degree in logistics and transport, he was born in Mayumba in the province of Nyanga in southern Gabon on July 8, 1994. In this city, the young entrepreneur spent his entire childhood there until obtaining his bachelor's degree in 2014.

Having arrived in Libreville to pursue his higher education, Amoniqué is convinced that he has skills in management and business creation. He then quickly decided to create his own company but unfortunately he did not know in which sector to invest. In full meditation, he is brought back to his early childhood on the banks of the Banio (river) and the beaches of "May sur mer". In this trip, he sees the fishermen sitting in their canoes emerging from the fish of the water. He sees on the bank fish cutters in full activity. Finally, he admires women cooking goldfish. That's it! Mahosso the entrepreneur is now fixed on his choice. It is the fish that will be at the center of its activities.

The best fish in Gabon is in Mayumba!

Amoniqué Mahosso is certain that the best fish in Gabon is in his hometown. Indeed, this commodity is very popular in the country and the young entrepreneur deduces that this "Mayumba fish" could sell like small pieces of bread. Mahosso has yet another asset including his knowledge of logistics and the distribution chain of fresh fish in Gabon. Thus, at the end of 2017, "Dinice Poisson" was born. The innovative start-up specialized in wholesale, semi-wholesale and details of fishery resources (lobsters, crabs, shrimps and fresh fish of various qualities...).

In the launch phase, "Dinice Poisson" uses several products including local bar, carp, sea bream, hunchback, red, captain, sole, sea bream etc. It ensures home delivery of its products twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. On the same dates, "Dinice Poisson" exhibits its products at the PK8 market, on the national road 1 in the sixth arrondissement of the Commune of Libreville from 8am to 3pm.

Satisfied by the quality of the fresh fish of "Dinice Poisson" customers always ask for more. Consumers love it so much that stocks take no more than three (3) hours after their display on the shelves. Some partnerships have already been forged with individuals and some great restaurants in Libreville.

Supply all of Gabon with fresh fish.

Supplying all of Gabon with fresh fish remains Mahosso Amoniqué's sole objective. Determined to succeed in his bet, Amoniqué now serves two (2) provinces out of nine (9) in the country: Estuary and Ogooué Maritime. He dreams of becoming a national reference in the sale of fish "made in Gabon". It advocates improving the level of supply and distribution of this commodity throughout the country. Indeed, fish is expensive in Gabon, very often imported and frozen, it can not yet cover local demand. And it is at this level that Mahosso intends to intervene.

If "Dinice Poisson" is a great success, the fact remains that the small company has some difficulties. The supply and transport of its products to Libreville are the main difficulties of this activity. Financial resources are also lacking.  Stocks are currently limited to only 200 kg of fish and shellfish per week. However, given the high demand, it is necessary to double this volume by 2020. The need for manpower is equally worrying. The help of his older sister who has supported him since the creation of the company is no longer enough. The volume of work is gradually increasing. Only an additional workforce will do. Despite these problems , Mahosso Amoniqué is not discouraged. He prefers to keep his gaze fixed towards his goal.
